The subject says it all, so to speak! :) Historically, Protools has been the #1 choice for major recording studio production and, even now, many sound engineers will swear by this software. Meantime, Cakewalk Sonar has been quietly coming out of the woom and has grown to be quite an adult recording PC studio itself. So how do these two pieces of software stack up against each other?

As always, there is nothing better than to read answers from the users of both and, while the relevant thread comes from the Cakewalk User Forum, I found it to be the most complete and interesting a discussion in the variety of opinions offered.
