I know, I know… It has been a long wait for JSonar7 users… And not all of you can upgrade to the shiny Sonar 8.3.1. But the good news is here…

I have just updated JSonar7 with the following additions from JSonar8 (please use only English language installer for now):

  • It is now possible to use experimental “clips pane” support. Please see how do I use clips pane with JSonar FAQ for more information and instructions.
  • Announcement of “punch from” and “punch through” points with control+shift+f11 and control+shift+f12 respectively.
  • “JSonar Utilities” menu can now be accessed using control+shift+f1 shortcut key.
  • The “Say Current Marker” function is now assigned to control+shift+f3 shortcut key.
  • When F4 key is pressed, JSonar will announce whether “large transport” toolbar is on or off.
  • Improved announcement of toolbar buttons that do not have any text labels associated with them.
  • When choosing “record mode” with alt+semicolon, JSonar will announce “Record Mode”.
  • JSonar will now differentiate between buses and tracks when speaking messages such as “no soloed strips” or “muted tracks are …”; previously, JSonar would simply announce “no soloed strips” or “muted strips are …”. Now the announcements are more user-friendly.
  • Improved “runtime setup wizard”; it will now:
    1. install JSonar control surface.
    2. import available HSC sets.
    3. refresh HSC keymap to make sure that all HSC keystrokes are working properly.
  • Added all the up-to-date message files for German, French, Dutch, Swedish, Russian and Spanish languages.

Head over to the downloads section to get the latest daily snapshot for JSonar7 with all the mentioned-above updates. Enjoy and, as always, your feedback is welcome!
