ok my 2 sense on this subject . first off about RAM or Memory.. 32 bit operating systems (windows xp or Vista) can only use 2GB or ram despeite the fact your mother board can hold more ... 64 bit operating systems (Windows XP64 or Vista64) can use much more than 2GB of ram. Also to maximize performance you may want to use a matched pair of ram sticks so instead of using one 2 GB stick use a matched pair of 1GB sticks o of ram. Also you want your ram spped to be atleast equal to your processors Front Side Bus speed or FSB. So if your processor has a 800MHZ frontside bus then you want memory with aclock sppeed of 800mhz as well.
