[Jsonar] tascam fw1884 - what I can do what I can not do.

Hi
the following things I found out now.

I can:
1. plug a microphon in the microphone-In and hear something and I can 
Record it.
2. I can move the faders and I think I change the Trackvolume. I don't 
know weather I can record automation.

I can not:
1. use any other thing only the faders. I can't change banks, I can't 
use transportfunctions lice play stop and such things.

third problem. When I plug in my motif via line in I hear when I give 
maximum gain  a overdriven sound but not loud. very   quiet and far away.
When I plug in a microphone on the same input in the microphone-in,  I 
can monitor it normal.
What is configured wrong and how to correct it?
When I open sonar, the faders move down and when I open a project the 
faders move to their position. but I can't  change the banks.
please help me.
