[Jsonar] Sonar8: WDM Vs Asio?

I've now done some testing using the ASIO drivers on the same machine. I
can still get down to 2.9 ms latency, but I need to use 128 buffers instead
of 64 under WDM. The next test will need to be on my single core P4 2.8 GHz
machine using 2GB RAM, twin drives and my MOTU 424 PCI and twin 2408 rig.
These results with the Delta are very impressive running on a single drive
2.4GHz dual core Athlon processor with 1GB of RAM. The test project has
over 40 channels of audio and a lot of plug-in usage.

Best wishes.

I find Tim's results with Sonar 8 interesting as historically, Delta ASIO
drivers are supposedly better written than their WDM one's. Just goes to
show how dramatically results can be improved with drivers, if an
application is significantly recoded.
