I was going to assume you had to separate inputs, but wasn't sure as people
still use things like the m-audio midisport and such for multiple ins and
outs. But yes, as Tim said, if you've got separate inputs you can leave the
setting in omni...

Hi DJ,
Maybe I am mistaken here, but wouldn't that only apply if I had one MIDI
input?
Problem here is that i have two midi inputs, and I want to record both of
them at once.
isn't channel 1 of one midi controller different from channel 1 of
another?
btw, i do have both tracks armed and input echo is on. if I arrow to
either track, they work fine themselves, but I cannot input from the non
selected midi track.
thanks

You try enabling the arm feature, then also set the input echo to auto or
whatever the other option is. The set each track to receive from 1 channel
only, say if piano is on ch1, that track should not be set to omni, but
instead to ch1. Same for drums, if the drums is outputting data on ch10, the
drums track should only be receiving on ch10. Failure to do this will result
in both tracks receiving all data, both piano and drums...

Hey gang,
Is it possible to input two midi tracks and record at once?
I have a midi keyboard and midi drums hooked up to sonar, and I'm trying to
record them both at once with one person on each instrument, but if i arrow
off the drum track, i cannot hear the keyboard and vice versa. any way
around this?
thanks
